Q1.  Is the SE truly safe?

A1.  Ok, here is our Disclaimer:  We cannot be nor will we be liable for the content of web sites not owned by us.  The Edusafe.us Search Engine is a Meta-Search Engine that gets it search results from other search engines.  Search results are based on keywords and we prevent searches on a very long list of inappropriate keywords.  However, we cannot guarantee that inappropriate content will not delivered using any particular keyword or keywords.  There is no such thing as a perfectly safe search engine, but we do the best we can.  If you have any concerns about using the Edusafe.us K-12 Safe Search Engine, we would recommend that you test it.  And please, if you find any keywords that bring up inappropriate content, please let us know using the Contact Us link and we will ban it.

Q2.  Can I add the Edusafe.us Search Engine to my site or my schools site?

A2.  Absolutely!  Just copy and paste the following code into your site where you would like the search box to be.

Q3.  Can I advertise on your site?

A3.  Please go to the Contact Us page for more info.

Q4.  May I use your logo to post your link on my site?

A4.  Yes. you may save our logo and use it on your site, however, you MAY NOT link directly to the image.  We are a high bandwidth site and we cannot afford to have hundreds of sites pulling the image directly from our servers every day.  So please, just right click the image and save it to your computer,  then just upload it to your web server.  Thank you!

Q5.  Who are you and why did you build this site.

A5.  I am a network administrator at a small school district in south east Kansas.  I started developing this site for my school (on my own time) but quickly decided that if I was going to do it, I might as well go all out and make it available to the world.

Q6.  What happened to the Google powered safe search that you originally used to power the edusafe.us K-12 Teacher - Student Safe Search Engine?

A5.  I had a falling out with Google or they had a falling out with me..  Frankly, Google has never been the same since they went public.  To say that they don't really care about the little guys like me would be a huge understatement.  Anyway, we parted ways.
