The Edusafe toolbar is designed to allow you and your
students ease of access to the K-12 Teacher - Student Safe Search Engine
as well as providing additional tools and resources that you will find
useful, directly from your Internet browser.

The Edusafe Toolbar is a browser plug-in for
Internet Explorer that puts the edusafe.us search engine right
in your browser for quicker and easier searches.
Features:

Options page, where you can control the feature of the
toolbar

Custom Buttons - Create your own buttons and menus for quick access to
sites you use everyday. You can also use it to launch programs on
you computers.

The US K-12 Search Engine search form. Search the K-12
teacher - student search engine directly from the toolbar.

Web Save - take a snapshot of any web page and save it to your hard
drive. Useful when doing research.

Customizable Web Blocker - Now you can block sites yourself, without
having to bother your IT people!

Content Search - just highlight a word or words on any web page,
right click the area that you highlighted and select edusafe search.

Installation Notes:
If you have a FAST internet connection just click
the link and select "run".
If you connection is Slow, download it and save it
to your desktop before running it. |
| In addition to the features above, this version includes
a DNS Catcher that routes bad addresses that have been entered into the
browsers address bar to the edusafe.us search engine. So instead
of getting a "page cannot be displayed", you will be taken to the
edusafe.us site. This toolbar also contains an auto-search
feature. This means that if you type a word in the address bar,
instead of an address, it will perform a search on the edusafe.us search
engine. This is basically overriding whatever defaults your
browser was set to. |

Privacy Notice:
This toolbar DOES NOT contain any spyware or malicious code.
However, you should be aware that certain features built into the
toolbar may depend on making contact with 3rd party servers in order to
deliver the appropriate information to you. The data passed back and
forth is basic web traffic and does not contain any personal identifying
information. Because these features do this automatically, without user
intervention, it become necessary for this privacy statement to be
included with this package.
AUTO-UPDATE: This toolbar may be updated from time to time to add new
features or to fix bugs. The Toolbar is preconfigured to Check for
updates at startup and every so often when left open.
The DNS Catcher: When you go to a web address that "DOES NOT EXIST",
like what often happens when you mistype a address, your browser usually
presents you with a "UGLY" error page. The toolbar overrides this
standard error page and delivers you to the edusafe.us search engine.
Auto Search: This is similar to the DNS Catcher in that when the toolbar
detects that a word, not an address, is entered in the address bar on
your browser, it will perform a search for that word on the edusafe.us
search engine.
Pop-up Blocker: While this toolbar contains elements that when
configured correctly will allow it to block pop-ups, we have disabled
this functionality by default. Most browsers now come with built in
popup blockers, so there is no reason to include it in the toolbar any
longer.
