NOTICE: The Toolbars are unavailable for the time being as we are revamping our search page and this will effect the toolbar usage.. Please see our main page for more information.
The Edusafe toolbars are designed to allow you and your students ease of access to the K-12 Teacher - Student Safe Search Engine as well as providing additional tools and resources that you will find useful, directly from your Internet browser. Below we have 2 different toolbars available to download. Please see the descriptions of each to determine what is best for your students. The Edusafe Toolbar LE - Download Now! (Internet Explorer 5 or higher only) The Edusafe Toolbar LE is the lite edition of the toolbar. The Lite Edition is just a simple toolbar that has the following features: - Options page, where you can control the feature of the
toolbar The Edusafe Toolbar SE - Download Now! (Internet Explorer 5 or higher only) The Edusafe Toolbar SE is the Strict edition of the toolbar. The Strict Edition is a toolbar that has the following features: - Options page, where you can control the feature of the
toolbar In addition to the features above, the SE version of this toolbar implements some custom shortcuts that act as redirects to specific web sites. Currently, this version prevents students from going to most of the major search engines, like yahoo, alta-vista, hotbot, etc.. This feature is designed to keep your students from breaking away from a safe search. This is not a perfect solution, but I hope that over time, with your help in the form of suggestions, that we can block many of the sites that students commonly use to get off-task. WAIT!!! But what if the students cannot find what they need using the K-12 Teacher - Student Safe Search Engine and they need to use a FULL standard search engine? I have that covered! I have created a Custom Google SAFE Search page, that forces safe search to be on, but searches the entire Google database. If students for some reason just have to search a standard search engine, then this is the way to go. That address is http://www.edusafe.us/search/gss.htm. This is provided as an option.. If you try it and don't like it, just uninstall it and use the LE version instead.
